ABOUT THIS PEICE
This Melissa Roedan piece is a detailed collage, carefully constructed and handsewn using various materials and threads. The background of this piece is an assortment of recycled teabags sewn together to create the backdrop. This is followed by the paper figures, symbols and animals meticulously cut to lay upon the surface of the handsewn recycled teabags. As you focus your eyes toward the center of this collage, Melissa’s ink on paper drawing unifies the concept. The work is glued on a white board and framed in glass with a black border. This collage was created by the artist during her time living in Florence, Italy, 2017.
